David Kowlessar, owner of auto body shop Just Fix It, always puts his customers first. That’s why, when he noticed a disturbing trend among insurance companies that could affect consumer safety, David couldn’t stay silent. What you’re about to read could shock you.

If you’ve been in an accident and your car needs repair, the body shop your insurance company recommends could be run by the very same people trying to convince you take your car there: the insurance company. It’s a little-known, dirty secret of the industry. They then go ahead and charge you high deductibles.

Why should you care if the insurance company wants you to take your car to “their” repair shop? Unless you want your car fixed by qualified professionals who use the best parts available, you shouldn’t. But if quality and safety are important to you, you owe it to yourself to keep reading.

Here’s how the Insurance scheme works:

After you report an accident, the insurance company knows you’re without a car, emotionally drained, and particularly vulnerable. It may surprise you to learn that they use this information to their advantage.

As unscrupulous as it sounds, they’ll attempt to steer you to certain “preselected” auto body shops in your area. (And “preselected” means they’ve worked out a backroom deal with a body shop to get rock bottom labor prices and cheap parts in exchange for sending a massive amount of customers their way.)

At a time when you’re counting on them the most, the insurance company has no problem sending you to the lowest bidder. These low bidders often employ poorly trained staff, underqualified technicians and they usually stock cheap, unreliable parts. When it “randomly” breaks again you have to go back to have it repaired, pouring more money into their pockets.

How can they get away with this?

Legally, they can’t. But bottom line obsessed business owners have figured ways around the laws and the open ended loopholes to exploit them. These exploits involve offering you “convenience programs” or “direct repair” programs.

Don’t be deceived. These carefully thought out, positive-sounding names make it seem like the insurance company has your interests at heart. It’s not true. The reality is these names simply disguise shady business arrangements put in place for the sole benefit of the insurance company and their profits.

The sad truth is it doesn’t matter how long you’ve been with the insurance company. It doesn’t matter how much you’ve given them over the years. It doesn’t even matter if you’ve never had an accident or filed a claim before. The insurance company will send you to the collision repair shop that costs them the least amount of money no matter the consequences to you and your safety.

At Just Fix It, we believe there’s a better way to do business.

When it comes to fixing your car, we don’t believe in overbooking and under delivering just to make a quick buck.

We believe in providing you with the absolute best collision repair work and the best replacement parts possible. We believe in loyalty, trust, and individualized service. Even more we completely understand that times are tough, so we have developed a concept laughed at by other body shops:
Some of the slick, big name auto body repair shops that have backroom deals in place with insurance companies consider your safety and inconvenience to their margins. That’s fine with us, because we know that with us, we will put your safety and your wallet FIRST!

While other body shops spend time finding insurance companies to partner with, we spend our time building relationships with part manufacturers and distributors to get you the best parts. We keep our staff well trained and up to date with the latest auto body repair technology and techniques.

We are not looking to partner with insurance companies. That’s because we already have a partner — you.

Our customer-first attitude seems to work for us. With our practice of careful negotiation from to parts suppliers to save you money and giving you your car back in tip top shape, is just how we plan to earn your trust. There is no catch, no shady deals, just your best interest at heart. For both your safety and your wallet!
